preview of versa pix

hey kiddies.

Here's a couple shots from our interview with the good guys and girl in VersaEmerge. We had a lot of fun and they were really eager to answer our questions! And destroy our property...

sierra is biting one of our "classy" (index card) interview cards, A+

jerry's face makes the entire picture:
that's the "i can't believe you right now"... people give it to me all the time!

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the small preview of photos from last night's shoot. There's many more where that came from. The video, an FOE exclusive fan questions video, and more pictures from the interview will be up ASAP!

Versa were pros! their live show was great as well... we had a blast rocking out to their last night on the Craig Owens/Color Fred tour at Highline Ballroom in NYC. I feel like we need to save the epic rest of the show for the rainbows, sunshine, and puppies edition of "shoot stories"...

Barely Blind / NJ / Spring

Carrie and I headed out from the city / Penn Station yesterday around lunch time to go meet up with Barely Blind in New Jersey and shoot an interview and acoustic. Man oh man was it a beautiful day! Here are a few pictures Carrie took while we were waiting at the Princeton Junction train station in NJ for the guys to pick us up:We decided to take advantage of the, may I say again, beautiful spring day and shoot outside in the grass...there was a little poo involved but I won't go into any detail.
The acoustic songs "Pariah" was stuck in my head the rest of the night! That's definitely a good thing. These guys not only make me feel at home because they have that southern accent, being from Texas, but crack me up because they pull out the red neck accent that I'm too familiar with...and if you went to my high school you'd know exactly what I'm talking about. After the shoot we went inside for the show, and for the first time Inklings shot some live footage. The lighting wasn't the best, though I got a feel for how it is to shoot live performances. It's pretty damn cool, and they guys put on a great show. Will was killin' it back there on drums, and I didn't realize that they all share vocal responsibilities. Really nice change up. They have to come play in the city the next time they're on the east coast! Our friend Reid was kind enough to put our brand new Inklings stickers on one of their cases...ok well on several of their cases and van (beside the IN-N-OUT BURGER STICKER! rad). How sweet of him.

Song dedications we're aplenty as everyone loaded out, and then we hastily made our way back to the train station. I'm soooo excited for a new jam that their tour manager, tony, told us about. Check this band out for real: Dr. Manhattan (www.myspace.com/drmanhattan). I've been jamming to them all morning.

Let's just say our night ended on a much less exciting note...Having to move throughout he trains to dodge fraternity pledges puking everywhere. fun times. I was reminded why I stay in Brooklyn on the weekends!

Hopefully we'll see the guys in Barely Blind again when they go out on warped tour! Stay tuned for more pictures and their interview / acoustic!

MxPx and Lakes

Greetings inklings readers! I am Jered Scott.
Thanks to Carrie and Naomi, I'm part of this fun duo....wait, duo? That's two. Uh.....anyway...
Me and my homie Kelsea Olivia will be covering what we can on the West Coast.

Ok, so now that we've been introduced, friday night we hit up Chain Reaction in Anahiem California to see our friends in MxPx and Lakes.

Lakes is a California based band that is currently on Militia Group. They've released on EP with the expectation of bring much more in the near future. We caught up with Seth Roberts (ex. Watashi Wa front man) for an interview that will be up shortly.

We were able to grab the guys for a short little photo shoot, as well i caught some pictures of the interview!

Next we got to spend some time with the guys of MxPx. This near Seattle based band had actually never played this venue, in their 15 years as a touring band! After the release of their 8th studio album, the guys are currently just hitting random venues to rock the socks off their loyal fans. I caught a few minutes with Tom (guitarist) before the show to ask him questions about the new record, life, and where it's headed (again, it will be up soon!)
Then, we threw down and took the band out for a quick little photo shoot (which was a dream come true since these guys have been my favorite band since i was in 8th grade, which was like 12 years ago!)

ok, well that's my first post!
hit up my blog for randomness (jeredscott.blogspot.com) and keep coming here for updates and announcements on events we're all covering, and when interviews make their way to the web!
have a glorious sunday everyone!!!
