Bayside and 2*Sweet

This past weekend was good for shows and for Inklings. Friday night we saw Anthony Raneri play an acoustic set at the Knitting Factory. The show was awesome, but it was filled with so many chatterboxes! I've never been to a show where the person onstage had to shush the crowd multiple times...but he played a bunch of Bayside songs and some awesome covers (Death Cab and Alkaline Trio, anybody?) In case you couldn't tell, we kind of like Bayside. In fact, if you look closely at the opening graphics for the "What's your dream tour?" video we posted a little while ago, you can see that if we could make up our dream "Inklings Tour," Bayside might be headlining.

Saturday we took a trip out to Long Island to shoot some stuff with 2*Sweet. They picked us up at the train and took us to Vudu studios, where they were just finishing up mastering their new album. (we got to hear a couple of the songs, and they sounded awesome.) The studio was a great place to shoot--seriously, is there a better place to film a band interview than in a room full of amps & random instruments? They also played us two new songs (three, if you count the little ditty Andy wrote about Inklings...) Anyway, the guys were a ton of fun. We stuck around for their show that night (also fun). Right now we've got a bunch of pictures from the shoot & the show, and a promo up on the site. I'm working on getting everything else done so it can be posted ASAP!

On an unrelated note, who else is seriously bummed about Heath Ledger? I'm kind of devastated. :(
